MARJORIE F. (ADAMS) McCREARY, age 91, of Plain City, went thru the gates of Heaven on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Memorial Gables.
A women of faith, she was a member of the Big Darby Baptist Church, Plain City. Marjorie was actively involved in church functions and was pianist for her church family for many years. The daughter of the late: Simeon & Florence (Hawes) Adams, she was born May 16, 1928 in Lena, Ohio.
As a young girl Marjorie enjoyed spending time at her grandparent’s home and the love she shared with her aunts, uncles and cousins. Marjorie worked at the Plain City Drug Store, behind the soda counter. After graduation she began her career as a Legal Secretary and retired from the Law Office of Gilbert & Kirby, which became the Law Office of John Houchard.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by husband of 37 years: James I. McCreary in 2010; her eldest son:Chris, who died March 8, 1958 of Luekemia; step-son: Jimmy McCreary; her adopted granddaughter: Lamphenh.
She is survived by two sons: Jeffery (Cheryl) Brown of East Liberty, Rod Brown of Plain City; brother: Phil (Carolyn) Adams; niece: Gail Adams; nephew: Eric (Cindy) Adams; four step-children: Jeff, Joe (Vera), and John (Lori) McCreary and Joyce (Dan) Bushong; her adopted granddaughter: Lamphao and her family: Justin, Lila and Nicolas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive along with her loving church family.
