Lester’s Lord and Savior called him home on Tuesday morning January 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family, after an extended illness. He was born April 20, 1948 in Urbana, Ohio to the late Ed and Pina (Burton) Hannah.
Lester attended Mechanicsburg High School. He is a retired truck driver with Scotts Seed of Marysville. Lester and his wife attended the former True Faith Church and served as a Pastor in the Madison County and Champaign County areas. He enjoyed the outdoors and played the guitar. Lester loved people and lived to “make someone’s day” or bring a smile to their face. He was devoted to his family and his cherished grandchildren.
Lester is survived by his loving wife of 51 years: Phyllis (Smith) Hannah whom he married on November 29, 1969; children: Edwin (Amanda) Hannah, Vicky Hannah, Randy (Connie) Hannah; grandchildren: Christian, Benjamin, Hannah, Hayden, Houston, Hope, Rylee; sisters: Loretta (Ken) Ward, Dee (Harold) Greene; and several nieces and nephews.
Lester planned to be preaching as he entered the gates of Heaven. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main Street, Plain City. Private services can be viewed via Livestream at 4:30 PM Thursday at fergusonfuneralhomeinc.com where you can also share a special memory with the family. Social distancing and wearing masks will be practiced at all times.
