I’m so sorry to hear that Jack has passed away. I worked with Jack at Alexian Brother’s Medical center in the ‘80’s and always enjoyed talking with Jack. We played basketball a lot of Saturday mornings too. Jack was to have been on call when my brother-in-law passed away from his cancer in the late 80’s and I was always great fil he had traded shifts so it didn’t fall on him. I am so sorry he is gone and have missed seeing him many times over the years since I moved to St Louis, MO. I offer love and support to all who knew Jack and his family as they try to deal with this loss. I pray you all can find peace in the memories of his love. Matthew Lindquist

Just moved back to Columbus and heard about Dr. Stanko's passing. I am very saddened to learn of his untimely death. As one of his device reps, I always appreciated his refreshing honesty and direct nature. I will always cherish the look and smile on his face when I brought him his favorite Lou Malnati's pizza for lunch on his birthday one year. He was a great physician and always had tremendous empathy for his patients and he will certainly be missed.

I just can't wrap my head around this awful news. Dr. Stanko was not only the best, but was spot on. I always felt like I was his only patient. I always wondered why I got that call to cancel my appointment, just an hour before I was set to be in the office. I first met him at Mount Carmel and him and Dr Hackett worked wonders. I'm so grateful and thankful for just knowing and trusting you. I'm one of many that are affected and profoundly sad I over this. May God ease the pain and suffering for his family 🙏 🍀💜😇🕯

My deepest sympathy, I just learned of his passing. He was my mother's doctor for at least 15 years. I have never met a more wonderful person. H was always caring, and took the time to listen to her and answer my concerns. The world was a better place when he was in it.

I 1st saw Dr Stanko 11 yrs ago. When I had a heart attack. My wife was wreck. Worrying about me also not what was going on. My wife only met Dr Stanko 1 time the day I was admitted. He walked into my CCU room told everyone to get out. My wife stayed out. She asked if she could stay. He asked who she was she said his wife. Then I’m the Dr Stanko voice calmly told her she could stay. Over the yrs I feel I developed a friendship with him. I thing I admired the most is. He would never rush you out. I knew when I went for an appointment I planned on at least 2 hrs there. I have so much respect for him. The best doctor I’ve ever been treated by. The world need more doctors and human beings like Dr Stanko. Your family is our family’s thought and prayers

I was unaware of Dr. Stanko's and he will be missed! I helped him move here in 1998 and he introduced me to fountain pens. He was a kind and caring physician and person who treated patients and colleagues with the utmost respect. We talked Chicago Bears football and I will miss him very much! He was a true professional and patient advocate that was a role model to me. RIP my friend and know that you were instrumental in many patients and peoples lives!! God Bless!!

Just hearing of the passing of a good man. Dr. Stanko was my grandpa’s cardiologist, he always took good care of him but also took time out of his day to try and enlighten the youth. My grandfather had mentioned to Dr. Stanko that I had a interest in heart sonography and offered me to shadow him for a day. I never seen a doctor care about patients so much, took the time to get to know them. I will never forget the impact he made on me at just 18 years old. It’s hard to find people in the world who care about others just as much if not more then themselves, we lost him too soon and I never got to give him a proper thank you for the day he invested in me and how appreciative I am to have spent a day with such a kind soul. Thank you Dr. Stanko. Condolences from Texas.
