Allan and Family--Please accept my sympathy at the passing of Betsy. Even though it has been many years since Oberlin Middle School days and that we've conversed, I still hold those days and the people as special chapters in my life. I've retired to Vermilion and so have time to keep in touch with Oberlin day's friends/students scattered hither and yon. Treasure the happy memories of Oberlin and times shared with Betsy. Sincerely, Mary Wojo

I am so very sorry to hear of Betsy’s passing. She was a wonderful, loving, generous person who touched so many lives—her family, her students, fellow teachers, neighbors, anyone who knew her. I counted her as me friend as well as a colleague. I once observed her teaching a lesson as part of our teacher evaluation process. Mid observation she quietly walked over to me and said,”smile” and giggled. Years later when I was a principal I always rembered to smile as I was taking notes. Betsy will not be forgotten. I am in northern Michigan and cannot do the drive, please accept my apologies for not being there in person.

I remember Betsy playing her ukulele at Peace Mennonite Church and teaching us a song that went "God is our Father, for He has made us His children..." Now she gets to play her ukulele for Him in person. My sympathy to Allan and each of their kids and their families. Thankfully a reunion day is coming in heaven for all who know the Savior!
