Brent Jay Spaulding

Dear Brenda, Brian, Brandon and family, I became friends with Brent when I had the honor of working with him for a short time at Meijer. He was always a pleasure to be around. I enjoyed our conversations about football, cars, Christianity, and our families. He was always so immensely proud of his sons Brandon and Brian. When Brent’s mother passed away, he told me he lost his best friend. I know that he is in heaven now with God, his mother, and all of his family and friends that have passed on before him. Brent was a wonderful man and had a beautiful spirit. I will miss him very much. I am grateful to Brian, Brandon and Brenda for allowing me to share in Brent’s celebration of life. They treated me like a family member. I will always remember Brent and the friendship we had. May we all find peace and serenity in God’s love.

Dearest Brenda and family, i am so heartbroken for you and your family over the loss of your brother Brent. i knew Brent from church and my brother, Jimmie Loy. Brent and Jimmie went to Jonathan Alder together. Brent used to come to Living Waters Church a few years ago when his children were small and later he came with your mother, Shirley. He was a very sweet man and always had a loving smile Again, im so sorry for your loss but look forward to the day we can meet again on the streets of Heaven Beverly Allegree Brenda, im sorry i cant make Brents service but I will be praying and thinking of you all Love in Christ

Two weeks ago, we were all eating out together, laughing, and enjoying our family. Today, I am writing a condolence for your memorial. Life is unfair sometimes, but I am thankful that I had such an amazing uncle! I truly admire you and the love you showed to others every day. I have so many memories! There are a few that stand out the most though, such as when I was driving home from Kansas and I was getting so tired, but still had a couple of hours left to drive. You called me and talked to me on the phone for a long time until you knew I would make it home safely. You always used to surprise us and bring us a Bennys pizza, KFC, or Buffalo Wild Wings. You always brought us the Blazin’ wings because that was your favorite, and you got me the Mango Habanero wings because that was my favorite. You always got extra celery and ranch. You always went above and beyond! When I told you how Chuck woke up with terrible heartburn from the Blazin wings, you laughed til you cried that he couldn’t keep up with you. I will forever cherish our cookouts. I will miss your Italian chicken on the grill. No one could do it like you! I will also miss your cheese ball you would make every Christmas, the taste of your ham loaf, and sharing a Bennys Pizza and Super sub with mushrooms. I’ll miss your laugh, your hugs, and just your constant presence in all of our lives. I am so thankful for your love and support. Life will never be the same anymore with you and grandma both gone, but we will carry on your legacy. I will strive to show others the kindness that you always shared. We all love you so much! Brent was one of my first cousins. We spent a lot of time growing up together, even though Brent lived in Plain City, Ohio; and I lived in Hilliard, Ohio. We played football, baseball and basketball together. Brent had a heck of an arm as a baseball player. He was a great outfielder; he could throw that baseball a country mile! And that “ country mile “ throw was so accurate - right there in my glove while I played catcher; and I did not have to move one inch when he threw that baseball! Brent also was a sweet and caring person, who was truly sensitive to the needs of others. He always laughed in the company of others; but he always laughed with you, and not at you. He always had a wonderful smile and a great grin. Brent was also a great listener; but when he said something, you paid attention to what he said. Brent could speak very well with a commanding voice and mannerism. Brent made excellent eye contact with you when he listened to you, and when he spoke to you. I will miss Brent (and his avid coffee drinking! HA!). But I am also very happy in the knowledge that Brent, a truly born-again, saved Christian, is in Heaven with Our Heavenly Father; His Son The Lord Jesus Christ; and The Holy Spirit - The Blessed Trinity - for all of eternity. When I take my last breath, I will then immediately see Brent in Heaven - and that gives me great comfort, even now with the suddenness and unexpectedness of his death occurring less than a week ago.
